Refund & Cancellation Policy

Your rights regarding cancellations and refunds under Israeli Consumer Protection Law

1. Right of Cancellation (Cooling-Off Period)

Under the Israeli Consumer Protection Law (1981), you have the right to cancel a distance transaction within 14 days from the date of the transaction or from the date of receiving the terms of the agreement in writing, whichever is later. This right applies to all SmartCaptions subscription plans.

2. Extended Cancellation Period

An extended cancellation period of 4 months from the date of the transaction or from the date of receiving the terms of the agreement applies to: persons aged 65 and over, persons with disabilities as defined by law, and new immigrants who have been in Israel for less than 5 years. The extended period applies provided the transaction involved a conversation between the business and the consumer (including electronic communication).

3. Cancellation Fee

If you cancel within the allowed period, a cancellation fee may be charged of up to 5% of the transaction amount or NIS 100, whichever is lower. No cancellation fee will be charged if cancellation is due to a defect in the service or a discrepancy between the service and its description.

4. Refund Process

Refunds will be processed within 14 business days from the date we receive your cancellation notice. The refund will be credited to the original payment method used for the transaction.

5. Exceptions for Digital Content

Please note that for digital content services, the right of cancellation may not apply once the service has been fully provided or digital content has been downloaded or activated with your consent. Transcription credits that have already been used cannot be refunded.

6. How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time through: (1) Your user account on our website — go to Account > Cancel Subscription; or (2) By sending a cancellation request via email to staff@smartcaptions.co.il. Please include your registered email address and subscription details.

7. Service Continuation

Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have full access to all features of your plan until that date. After the billing period ends, your account will revert to the free tier.
